The Linlithgow Advent Fair is THIS Saturday, 30th November! Linlithgow will be full of Christmas cheer all day - starting with the Craft Fair in the Burgh Halls at 10am, charity stalls around The Cross, the Linlithgow Athletics Santa Dash at 4pm and culminating in the famous torchlight procession and Christmas light switch on at The Cross at 5pm. Santa and Mrs Claus will also be making appearances throughout the day!

Shops and cafes all along the High Street will be getting into the Christmas spirit, so you can enjoy a whole day out in Linlithgow!

Tickets for the torchlight procession are £5. You only need a ticket if you want a flaming torch! Torches are not recommended for under-12’s, there are free glowsticks available, and it’s also free to walk in the procession without a torch.

Torch-lighting starts at 4.40pm at Low Port Primary School.

Callum Robinson’s Ingrained was out pick of the summer, a beautifully crafted memoir about this master craftsman, who just so happens to be based at Beecraigs!

Sue Lawrence’s New Scottish Baking came out in the autumn and not only is one of the best baking books you’ll ever own, Far From The Madding Crowd and Mrs Pattle’s world-famous shortbread recipe are in it!

The 111 Places You Shouldn’t Miss series has been a favourite of ours for years, and now Lothian gets its own edition! 111 Places in the Lothians and Falkirk You Shouldn’t Miss is out now!

Finally, and just out: Putting Linlithgow on the Map, by local author Christopher Long. The book looks at centuries of map making in Scotland as a whole and then focuses on the history and development of Linlithgow through maps and other images. The book, published by Linlithgow Civic Trust, is painstakingly researched and beautifully illustrated.
