THURSDAY 9th MARCH, ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH, 7PM ROBIN INCE RETURNS TO LINLITHGOW!
Bibliomaniac is Robin Ince's love letter to Britain's bookshops. Featuring over 100 bookshops from all over the UK (including Far From The Madding Crowd!), Bibliomaniac explores Ince's lifelong love of books and bookshops.

After a two-year hiatus, we are bringing back the Further From Festival: West Lothian’s only book festival! In 2023, we’ve got a boutique offering with all events taking place on Saturday 11th March, and all in beautiful St Peter’s Church in the heart of Linlithgow. The authors appearing this year are Jim Crumley & Polly Pullar, Michelle Sloan, Rosemary Goring and in our popular Afternoon Tea slot we’ll be joined by Sue Lawrence! THE FURTHER FROM FESTIVAL 2023 SATURDAY 11th MARCH, ST PETER'S CHURCH, 10.30AM JIM CRUMLEY, SEASONS OF STORM AND WONDER & POLLY PULLAR, THE HORIZONTAL OAK
Jim Crumley's Seasons of Storm and Wonder is a landmark volume documenting the extraordinary natural life of the Scottish Highlands and bearing witness to the toll climate chaos is already taking on our wildlife, habitats and biodiversity. Polly Pullar's The Horizontal Oak is a memoir of a life lived with and in nature, peppered with humour, empathy and kindness. Both Jim and Polly will be discussing their writing lives, and lifelong relationship with the natural world around them.

Rosemary Goring tells the story of Mary, Queen of Scots' Scottish years through the often dramatic and atmospheric locations and settings where the events that shaped her life took place. It also examines the part Scotland, and its tumultuous court and culture, played in her downfall. This session will be chaired by Bruce Jamieson, so we can expect a really insightful discussion about Linlithgow’s Queen and her Homecoming.
